“Conosci il tuo lago”: discounts for inhabitants who use the ferry
The initiative includes 22 municipalities in Lombardy and Piedmont that are in the Verbano area. To get the discount you only need an ID.
From 24th April the Agreement about the project “Conosci il tuo lago” (Know your lake) has started, as an experiment by the “Navigazione Lago Maggiore” supported by the Mayor of Luino, Andrea Pellicini.
The project offers a special fare with 20% discount for those who live in the area.
The promotion, valid from 24th April to 31st December 2016 on the services of the ferry (according to the timetables in effect), will offer the benefit of a discount on regular tickets for passengers, which is on one way tickets and round tickets without stops, and day tickets.
The reduced fares, only for adults, are the following:
– reduced fare n 1.20 for regular tickets without stops both one way and round trips (without the fast supplement, the transportation of vehicles, goods and luggage);
– reduced fare n 3.20 for day tickets.
The discount cannot be accumulated with other initiatives and discounted prices and is not available for special services and cruises. To get the discount you only have to show a form of ID, in which there is the municipality where you live (one per ticket), to the ticket office of “Navigazione Lago Maggiore” in one of the stopovers supported by the public transports. The inspectors on board will be able to verify the right to the discount anytime.
The municipalities participating in the initiative (updated on 18th April 2016) are the following:
ANGERA – ARONA – BAVENO – BELGIRATE – BREZZO DI BEDERO – CANNERO RIVIERA – CANNOBIO – CASTELLETTO SOPRA TICINO – GERMIGNAGA – GHIFFA ISPRA – LAVENO – LESA – LUINO – MACCAGNO CON PINO E VEDDASCA – MEINA MONVALLE – PORTO VALTRAVAGLIA – RANCO – SESTO CALENDE – STRESA – VERBANIA
“An interesting reduction, especially for families, to keep us, who live near the lake, in touch;” says Alessandra Miglio, Councillor for transports of Luino. “To obtain the discount, you need to show a form of ID to the ticket office.”
