Strange phone calls to Agoustine Noubissie, the doctor who came to the police station that night: "I did not any see violence, but Giuseppe was very agitated"

“My email was hacked. I received threats and intimidation. They wrote that I was a coward and that I had not told the truth. I also suffered for some time anonymous phone calls, and silent phone calls, to my mobile phone. They always arrived at nine o’clock at night.”

Who is trying to intimidate the doctor of the emergency medical service that on the night of 14th June, 2008 that arrived in the police station of Varese and spoke with Uva while he was in a room surrounded by policemen and policemen?

Agoustine Noubissie I spoke today in court for the first time. The man is a doctor from Cameroon: in these months he is building a hospital in his country, but for fifteen years he worked in Varese, where he provided medical service and health care assistant to the prison in Busto Arsizio.

That night he came to the police station at 4:15. At 4:56 he decided that it was not possible to calm down Giuseppe and an involuntary psychiatric treatment was required. “I called the police that night of Varese,” he told under oath before the Court, “I arrived and saw the police and the military police in a room. Giuseppe Uva was sitting in a chair, handcuffed with his hands behind his back. ”

According to the doctor, that night, Uva would always be handcuffed and sitting down. This was stated several times, today, but the fact does not fit with what he declared in 2010, and in 2014, to the prosecutors that were investigating. On those occasions, he said that Uva was standing and was kicking and punching the tables. He also stated that Uva insulted him for the colour of skin, a fact that today instead he denied.

It is the second oddity of this hearing after the revelation of the threats. Essentially Noubissie said that he did not directly see scenes of physical violence against Giuseppe Uva.

It was not a lunch between gentlemen,” he explained, “words flew. He was also very agitated and he frightened me. If he wasn’t wearing handcuffs I wouldn’t have been able to get close.

I saw him fall from the chair, prying with your legs and jump backwards to fall, then bang his head. He said “I’ll make you pay” and also “I have a brother lawyer and I’ll sue you.”

Instead I tried to calm him down, I told him that I could sedate him, but I didn’t inject him because he told me that he was allergic.”

The prosecutor Daniela Borgonovo, but also lawyers for the plaintiff and the defense have asked several times if he had seen blood or violence: “In front of me he wasn’t beaten, he said, “I cannot know what had happened before. He said that the police had mistreated him, but what he meant exactly I can not say.

I saw however, the self-injury, the fall from the chair and also that he slammed the door against the glass door of the police station while they were taking him to the ambulance.”

Noubissie recalls that Uva had been drinking alcohol.  He is a direct witness and was the first to see Giuseppe that night, after about 20 minutes when he was alone with the police in that room of Via Saffi.
