Attraverso una biopsia al linfonodo di uno dei pazienti di Rozenbaum nel <strong>1983 il gruppo di ricercatori guidato dal medico francese\u00a0fu in grado di scoprire il virus<\/strong>, a cui fu dato il nome di LAV (lymphadenopathy-associated virus, ovvero virus associato a linfoadenopatia).<\/p>\n<p \/><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-WEIGHT: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>L&#8217;anno successivo un gruppo di studiosi americani guidato dal dottor Robert Gallo<\/strong>, capolaboratorio all&#8217;Istituto Nazionale del Cancro (NCI), conferm\u00f2 la scoperta del virus, ma ne modific\u00f2 il nome in virus T-linfotropico umano di tipo III (HTLV-III).<br \/>Nel 1986 Montagnier \u00e8 riuscito a isolare un secondo ceppo del virus HIV, chiamato HIV2 e maggiormente diffuso in Africa ed \u00e8 stato insignito del premio Albert Lasker per la ricerca medica; assieme a <strong>Francoise Barr\u00e8 Sinoussi, il medico francese ha isolato l&#8217;Hiv. <\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-WEIGHT: normal\"><\/span><span style=\"FONT-WEIGHT: normal\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: \"Times New Roman\"; mso-fareast-font-family: \"Times New Roman\"; mso-ansi-language: IT; mso-fareast-language: IT; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA\"><font face=\"arial,helvetica,sans-serif\"><strong>Il ricercatore tedesco Harald zur Hausen<\/strong> ha invece isolato e riconosciuto l&#8217;Hpv (Human Papilloma Virus) come causa di uno dei pi\u00f9 diffusi tumori che colpiscono le donne, <strong>il cancro della cervice
