“Trolleys squatters” at the airport, twelve people evicted
Administrative and penal consequences for the 7 non-European citizens and 5 Italians. About twenty people were stopped and searched by State policemen.
About twenty people were identified and twelve were evicted from the Malpensa Airport. This is the result of the turn of the screw on the so called “trolley squatters”. After the assault last Saturday 1st March that sent to hospital an 18-years-old boy (the mugger has been questioned by the Gip, which in Italian is a Judge of Preliminary Investigations, Patrizia Nobile who intends to take the decision of pre-trial detention), yesterday, Tuesday 4th March, the State Police organized a broad series of inspections to repress the criminal events that occur in the Malpensa Airport’s area and that are linked mainly to “delinquent commuting”. The intervention also turned to identify the situations of social marginality, which often lead to crime and to intervene on them through a focused action of contrast.
The Police officers from the Varese, Busto Arsizio and Gallarate Police Stations, the Lombardy Crime Prevention Department, the Malpensa Border Guard and the Railroad Police have worked all day. They have identified twenty people, who were always at the air terminal and some of them were dedicated to leasing trolleys to passengers in exchange for money. Consequences of administrative and penal nature have been taken against 7 non-Europeans (2 Senegalese, 2 Bengalis, 1 Moroccan, 1 Tunisian, 1 Albanian) and 5 Italians. In particular were denounced for fulfillment of the expulsion order, a forty-year-old Senegalese citizen and 3 Italians ( a 68-year-old and two self-styled 55-year-old homeless), who already have criminal records. Two Bengal citizens, one Senegalese, a sixty-year-old from the Bergamo province have been sanctioned according to the provisions of the Navigation Code for unjustified presence at the airport. At the expense of a fifty three- year-old Italian citizen, a measure, promulgated by the judiciary authority, has been notified for fraud crime. An Albanian, a Moroccan and a Tunisian with criminal records who come from the Milan province, were, at the end, evicted. After the usual procedure all these people were taken away from the airport.
