Volunteers and Social Media Teams, GlocalNews awaits you!

GlocalNews, the local digital journalism festival, is returning this year, from 13 to 16 November, to liven up the town of Varese. It is a time when the town fills up with journalists, experts in communication and digital journalism, editors of local and national newspapers, artistes, top users, researchers and influencers. To put it very briefly: in November, the whole world comes to Varese.

What you need, to be able to organise an event like this festival, is a strong desire to do something, passion, energy and enthusiasm. And so, for 2014, we have made two calls: the first is to anyone that wants to give a hand in organising GlocalNews. Volunteers can do activities related to the office and reception, or to organisation and logistics. Click here to apply to the “Volunteer” section.

The second call is to the world of social networks and photography. This year, we are looking for

6 social media storytellers and 3 digital photographers to produce the digital narrative of the days of the festival. The GlocalNews Social Media Team will take part in pre-festival training, via Hangout, with experts in communication and social networks, and will work with the organisers and speakers during the meetings and workshops.
