Stories of Italy and Switzerland, on show at the MAGA
“Voglio vedere le mie montagne”, the new exhibition set up in the museum in Gallarate, has been inaugurated. The aim of this large project is to “smuggle culture” across the border.
It is a fresh view of that multifaceted, human, historical and political landscape that runs along the border between Italy and Switzerland, which serves as a crossroads of journeys, visions and stories. This is “Voglio vedere le mie montagne” (I want to see my mountains), the new exhibition that has been set up in the halls of the MAGA Museum in Gallarate, which was inaugurated on Saturday, 7 February.
It is a multifaceted tale, portrayed through the creativity of 18 artists, coordinated by Noah Stolz, who have filled the museum’s entire exhibition space with works that were inspired by the famous phrase that Giovanni Segantini said on his deathbed (“I want to see my mountains”), which Joseph Beuys used to sign his most important and complex works; a genuine testament. The exhibition will remain open until 15 March and can be visited free of charge.
