“Sweet Freedom” wins a prize at Eurochocolate

“Dolci Libertà” (Sweet Freedom) has been rewarded at Eurochocolate, the international exhibition in Perugia, as the best craft product. The creations of the workshop, where a group of inmates at the prison in Busto Arsizio work, have been given an acknowledgement, which recognises a completely original and brave initiative, which has been encouraged by the management of the prison in Via Per Cassano.

Just three weeks ago, the workshop (which contains the very latest equipment) was inaugurated before a large number of authorities and sports and show business personalities. In fact, it is thanks to the association “Sport e Spettacolo” that this workshop began, and the group of inmates who work there have been trained by highly-skilled, professional confectioners. All this has enabled the creation of products that, besides being good, are also innovative in terms of their shapes, flavours and packaging.

The satisfaction for the 40 inmates who work in the workshop and for the prison director Mr Nastasia is great, as it is for Rina Gaeta, who is in charge of the treatment area. For everyone, this is an important acknowledgement, but also an incentive to continue to pursue quality in the making of chocolate products.
