“A table for consultation in the Region for the Mascioni”

Let’s encourage a Regional table for consultation with the new owners , with the social partners and the interested local authorities, with the participation of the Regional Company for Work, to evaluate actions that are useful to the relaunch of the production site, let’s  face the workers difficulties and support the research of new employment for the redundant employees.

This is the subject of the question presented by the New Centre-right Alliance Regional Group, that will be discussed tomorrow in the Regional Council, where the crises of Mascioni Company of Cuvio (Varese) are called to account  to the Regional Board.

The promoter of the initiative is Raffaele Cattaneo, the President of the Lombardy Regional Council, that has registered the question, signed also by Luca del Gobbo, Carlo Malvezzi, Alessandro Colucci and Angelo Capelli, his colleagues.

Since 7^th May Mascioni -which is a quality-textile sector leader company well known in all over the world- has filed an appeal for the admission to the composition with creditors with reservation. In the last weeks the Spanish investment fund Phi has shown interest and has presented a new industrial programme.

”Mascioni is an important reality for the northern area around Varese and is one of the last textile companies remained in the North Verbano,” affirmed Cattaneo. “We need the creation of a regional negotiating table at the presence of Arifl (regional agency for the education and work) among the new property, the social parts and the local authorities with the purpose of revamping the business of the company and to understand how the redundant workers can be employed. We ask to the Lombardy Region to coordinate the oversight of this bargaining table in order to save a company which is an asset for our territory.”
