The “Frecce Tricolori” Italian Aerobatic Team are a great success at the air show

All eyes were looking skywards. This morning, Saturday, 14 May, a great number of people took part in the ceremony organised in Aermacchi, the aircraft manufacturer, to reward the “senior” employees of Finmeccanica. It was a genuine air show, open to the public, that involved both young and old.

Organised by the Aeroclub of Varese, in collaboration with Finmeccanica Alenia Aermacchi and with the Volandia Foundation, the event proved, as always, to be a great show, the stars of which were the aircraft produced by the Varese-based company, which is famous throughout the world.

The airplanes of the “Frecce Tricolori” Italian Aerobatic Team, and, of course, the airplanes and helicopters of the Finmeccanica Group did “somersaults” in the sky. There followed a spectacular demonstration by the “Team Paramotoristi Audaci”, which produced a rainbow of coloured smoke. Francesco Fornabaio then flew his EXTRA 300L, and then left the sky to the helicopter and to the other aircraft. The show ended at around 12.30 p.m., with a demonstration by the “Frecce Tricolori” Team, one of the most eagerly awaited and applauded moments of the day.
