Parolo and his debut with the colour of the National Team, “It’s been emotional”

The midfielder from Gallarate made his debut in Kiev last night, wearing the Italian National Football kit. “It’s been a dream come true.”

Any kid who plays football, around the world, dreams to wear his National Team kit, sooner or later. For Marco Parolo, 25, from Gallarate, this wish came true last night, 29th March, during a friendly match between Ukraine and Italy, in Kiev. Entering in the 43 minute of the second half of the game, the manager-trainer Cesare Prandelli saved him just a few minutes, but the palpitations have been big anyway, as the midfielder of Cesena himself, admits, “It’s been emotional, really. It’s a dream that I have realised, a reward for the season I’ve been playing in Cesena.” The experience with the National kit began last week, with the summoning, the match against Slovenia, and ended with the coming home, by train, to Romagna.

“I’ve spent some wonderful days. I’ve known a beautiful environment that I hope to come back to as soon as possible. I’ve lived and worked alongside extraordinary football players and amazing people.”

At the end of this precious adventure, Marco reveals the perceptions he lived and his emotions, “Prandelli doesn’t talk much, but he loves working on the field. At the end of the match he congratulated me, and the whole team did the same. Gigi Riva gave all the debutants the ball of the match with the signatures of all our teammates; it’s been a wonderful gesture that I really appreciated. Thiago Motta surprised me in a positive way: besides being a great player, he’s a simple and lively guy I got on with very well. I must say all the others have been very close to me too, from Chiellini to Buffon.” … well, everyday stuff.
