Saronno admitted to the regional meeting on pollution.

Saronno town council will be admitted to the regional meeting on air quality. After a two month wait, the Mayor received the answer, on Wednesday afternoon, with a call from the regional councillor for environment, Marcello Raimondi. Saronno had been barred from the meeting, because it was a town with fewer than 40,000 inhabitants, although it does have 39,700 inhabitants, and it is one of the towns with the most critical levels of pollution. The Mayor, Luciano Porro, who had sent a request to the Region at the beginning of January, said, “We’re happy with this answer. They’ve already reassured us that the Region plans to implement an anti-pollution plan, which is what we have sought since we took office here two years ago. Now we will be presenting our requests to the official meeting, hoping that we can make progress in this direction to deal with the problem”
