100 million euros to buy new trains

“Trenord will invest 200 million euros more to buy new trains”. It was the Regional Council Member for Transports, Alessandro Sorte, to affirm that during the TV programme “Orario Continuato”.

88% RATE OF PUNCTUALITY, AND SUPPRESSION WILL DECREASE BY 50%. The Council Member reminds us how, during the last three months, thanks to the joined commitment of the Region and Trenord, also the average punctuality of trains have improved. If in December it was guaranteed at 72%, during the first week of April it was guaranteed at about 88%. At the same time also the “No Graffiti” project for Expo started. Thanks to this project, they will grant internally and externally cleaner trains, and suppression will decrease by 50%.

A 24/7 TRAIN SERVICE IS USELESS AND EXPENSIVE. Sorte, answering to the question of the presenter about the Atm plan for the 24h bus service during Expo, claims that the event will be open until 11 p.m. , so it will be “useless and expensive to have trains after the closing time”. “We care about the funds of our citizens,” concluded. “And we will dispose all the necessary trains at the hours when we need them. Trenord will play along even with the last visitor to the destination.”
