Cycling from Vizzola to Amsterdam, to get to know associations similar to ANFFAS

Daniele Esposito and Gianluca Bossi are setting off, from Castelnovate, on 10 June, to cycle to Amsterdam, in 20 days. The journey is not only for pleasure, and because they love cycling, but it will also enable them to discover other associations similar to ANFFAS (the national association of families of people with mental and relational disabilities), which they are going to write about on a blog (which you can find here). “Last summer, together with Gianluca, while cycling through the Ticino Park, we got this crazy, but wonderful idea: let’s train and cycle to Amsterdam. What’s it going to take? Don’t you think we’re already fit enough?”

So, here they are now, a total of 1100 km, 20 days available, with a social objective to achieve. “I’m an educator with ANFFAS,” Daniele explained, “and during the journey, we want to visit other associations, in Switzerland, Holland and Germany, to get to know them and bring our experience to them.”

From Castelnovate to Cadenazzo, up as far as Airolo, then the St Gotthard Pass, along the old cobbled cycle road; along the journey, they will cycle through, and write about, the towns of Goeschen, Zug, Basel, Strasbourg, Bad Durkheim, Boppard, Cologne, Nijmegen and Amsterdam.
