Volandia, among the stars with Luca Parmitano

It was a wonderful encounter with the astronaut Luca Parmitano, on the morning of Thursday 14 May, at the Flight Park and Museum in Malpensa. The event was entitled “Volandia tra le stelle” (“Volandia among the stars”) was organised also by Federmanager Varese, in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency, the Air Force and the European Space Agency.

The Major, pilot Luca Parmitano, was the first Italian ESA astronaut to carry out extravehicular activities, and took part in the first long duration mission of the ISA, “VOLARE”.

The event consisted of two distinct parts, the first, an encounter that was open to the public, “Does the space experience consolidate man’s earthly roots, or make you forget them?”, which was presided over by Claudio Tovaglieri.

The second part of the morning was an encounter, presided over by Matteo Inzaghi, entitled “An extraordinary international experience”, which was reserved for Federmanager Varese, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, in which only member managers and students at the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the Polytechnic of Milan could take part.
