Husqvarna launches from Varese the challenge to two World Cups
The motorcycle manufacturer has submitted to Cassinetta the teams that will participate in the festivals of world championship motocross and endurance. Ten pilots and three motorbikes to dream the top of the world
It’s a bright red picture the one painted today in Cassinetta di Biandronno at the Husqvarna headquarters, the motorcycle manufacturer with the Varese heart and the German brain (it is in fact part of the BMW galaxy) major player in the world of off-road motorcycling.
Red like the uniforms of workers, pilots and mechanics as well as the passion that remains the primary driving force achieving the results centred in these years, in which Husqvarna has dominated the world of endurance following a tradition that counts 82 world championship titles in the various disciplines in which it took part.
The meeting in Cassinetta served to present the motorbikes and the men who will fight for the 2012 World Championships in motocross and, indeed, in endurance as well as in a series of national competitions. On stage, called by the German president of Husqvarna, Klaus Allisat (introduced by a video in which he participates in person – and falls off the motorcycle – to the off-road driving course organised by the company), paraded the teams called to represent the manufacturer in the two specialties: in motocross the motorcycles are entrusted to Ricci Racing, from Modena, while for the endurance continues the Varese winning wedding with the CH Racing of Albizzate, led by Fabrizio Azzalin.
Master of the ceremonies of the day, alongside Allisat was Martino Bianchi, historic face of Husqvarna, chief executive of the races. "We come from a season that gave us four out of six world titles at stake in the endurance, a discipline that is in our heart and our soul. And then, like other sports, it is also important for our industrial production since, on the stadium, we send motorcycles that our clients can then find at the dealer. In motocross, we are back to the world championship because it represents the Formula Uno of the off-road sector, since we have a great tradition and we found a team like that of Ilario Ricci, in which we believe in, in order to better develop our program. "
COME TO VARESE – The convention of Cassinetta has important consequences, as well as from the point of view of sport, even from the territory: to the headquarters of Husqvarna came journalists and experts from across Europe who have been reminded – from the President Allisat in person – about the importance and function of the Varese area for off-road motor sports. And it is precisely on these pathways that Husqvarna organises its own workshops dedicated to aspiring riders and to those who want to safely steer these two-wheeled race vehicles.
CALENDAR – The Husqvarna season for 2012 began between December and January with the participation in the Dakar Rally of the Spanish Barreda (11th with a stage win), of the Portuguese Goncalves (26th in the end but among the top 5 for most of the the race ) and others. The World Cup will start on the 8th of April for the motocross (in Valkenswaard in the Netherlands) and on the 25th of March for the endurance (in Talca in Chile); motorbikes and riders, however, will anticipate the onset of national races organised from now to that time. The motocross season will last until September while for the endurance until October with subsequent additions.
