New revelations about the Beasts of Satan

From prison, a friend of Andrea Volpe has asked to speak with the judges about the strange suicides that occurred in the area south of Varese and north of Milan, between 1996 and 2000.

Orazio Valente, a man with a troubled and difficult past of drug addition and minor offences, has decided to speak, and to say everything he knows about Andrea Volpe and about a number of mysterious suicides that occurred in the last years of the 20th century, and the first years of the 21st, in the area between Milan and Varese. According to an article in today’s edition of the newspaper, Corriere della Sera, this is what he has said in a letter from prison addressed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Busto Arsizio.

Orazio Valente is currently behind bars in the prison in Via Per Cassano. Now, a few years after the final conviction of the so-called “Beasts of Satan” for three murders, he wants to speak about his relationship with one of them, Andrea Volpe, with whom he spent some years of his difficult youth; he wants to tell what he knows about a number of suicides that have always been considered suspicious, starting with that of Andrea Ballarin, who, like Volpe and Valente, was submissive, and who committed suicide inside a school in Somma Lombardo, the same school that Valente and Volpe had ravaged years before, during a night of acid-induced folly.

Valente is in prison for minor offences, and apparently will not benefit from his statements on the matter. He claims he knew of the Beasts’ habit of drugging their victims until they lost consciousness. It is these facts that make what he has to say about the case “rather interesting”. The assistant Public Prosecutor, Roberta Colangelo, who has not yet spoken to Valente about the facts that he says he wants to give, is working on this case. In addition to the confirmation of Valente’s wish to tell what he says he knows, the Public Prosecutor does not miss a thing. The case is extremely delicate, and may raise the hopes, without good reason, of family members, who have not yet resigned themselves to their children’s suicides. And this is what happened, in the last few months, in the case of Doriano Molla, the young man from Cavaria con Premezzo, who was found hanging in the Valle del Boia, at the end of December 2000, whose tragic death was later vaguely linked to the mysterious story of the group called the Beasts of Satan, who had already been convicted of three murders, but whose responsibility in this specific cases, like those of Andrea Ballarin and Christian Frigerio, has still not emerged.
