Lazzaroni, a personal exhibition for the patron and entrepreneur

Today, in Saronno, “Vernice” from the personal exhibition of Paolo Lazzaroni Andina, who displays drawings, watercolours and portraits from Thursday 1^st to Saturday 3^rd December at Sale della Nevera, Casa Morandi, viale Santuario 2 (from 10 am to 12.30 pm, and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm). The exhibition is meant to celebrate the entrepreneur, the artist, the patron and philanthropist on his 80^th birthday: the exhibition itself is an extraordinary event, as Ambrogio Chiari writes. It is the first-ever exhibition to show to the public this artistic activity of his; he started it when he was a child and he has cultivated it for pleasure for hall these years, always with passion and enthusiasm.

Lazzaroni pictorial poetics is articulated mainly into two current: landscape and portrait. Simultaneously he kept cultivating his pictorial passion, devoting himself in particular to drawing techniques, pastel, charcoal and red chalk drawing, Indian ink drawing. However, he favoured watercolour drawing, which requires a great exercise and dexterity in the use of colours. The works on display show the excellence he achieved. If they arouse amazement for their significant beauty, they also provoke feelings: they do not leave emotions untouched.

In his landscapes (a lot of which have been taken from notepads that Mr. Lazzaroni used to bring with him during his journeys abroad) there is an external and objective vision of the reality, which could bring to an almost photographic representation.

Instead, this temptation concerning the “rejection of defects” is overstepped by an interior customised vision through a world of feelings, emotions, amazement, dream, nostalgia, anxiety, tenderness, love. Inside every landscape, there is a piece of life linked to a particular moment, an event, an anniversary, a memory, a celebration.

If on one hand the landscape is painted as a place where there are pieces of life experiences, on the other hand the portrait is a way to fix familiar faces for the following years. So, these are small paintings of family life: the main subjects are grandchildren and friends, attenuating colours with pastel, pencil, red chalk, seizing the soul of every subject.

Paolo Lazzaroni Andina has expressed himself on life realities, on important events also through poetry, with which he has represented emotions, states of mind, feelings as a comment so that they could be fixed inside his and the others’ memory.
