Exhibition of “Football Legends”
The entrance ticket will give the right to watch matches involving the Italian National Team, during UEFA Euro 2016, and the final, on a maxi-screen, which will be set up in La Marna.
From 4 June to 10 July 2016 (which coincides with the upcoming UEFA 2016 European Championship*), there will be the exhibition “Football Legends, the history and stories of football” the Council Chamber of Sesto Calende Town Hall.
This will be a dive into history, from a sporting perspective (from the twentieth century to today), a unique opportunity for football fans and “secular” visitors alike, a magical opportunity to meet, through their “devices”, such unforgettable names as: Rivera, Pelé, Maradona, Van Basten, Scirea, Zanetti, Mazzola, Gigi Riva, Messi, Maldini, Ronaldo, Platini, Crujff, Seedorf, Zidane, Raul, Giggs, Di Stefano, Picchi, Suarez, Baresi …
There will be a marvellous collection of memorabilia, images, objects, mementoes, memories, anecdotes, trophies, paintings, shirts and football boots, all original, which all belonged to football players and European football teams that took part in major, world football competitions (from the FIFA World Cup to the UEFA Champions League, from the Copa América to the UEFA Cup, from the European and National Supercups to the Intercontinental Cup) and experienced them as protagonists, as winners or losers.
The Italian football teams (especially those that attract the largest number of fans, that have most distinguished themselves in international competitions) and the Italian National Team will take up a significant area, although the real focus of the exhibition will be international, like football itself, which is an international sport that has no borders and that unites entire populations.
The exhibition, which was sought by Silvia Fantino, the town councillor for culture, is being set up by TWG Consulting Srl of Milan, under the supervision of Raffaele Vergine, and run by SMS Srl, a subsidiary, which runs the World Football Collection.
*the entrance ticket for the exhibition will give the right to watch the matches involving the Italian National Team during UEFA Euro 2016, and the final, on a maxi-screen, which will be set up in La Marna, the premises of the Circolo Sestese.
